Halloween is much loved in our hood.
At least we love it as one more reason to get together….
Life gets busy and catching up and taking the time to lounge with friends on a porch…well Halloween gives us that chance!
The tradition goes that we have a block party every year at one of our houses…
I take the kids down to the field to take their pictures. I have years of these pictures in the field. Each year I just look through that lens and flash back to how little they all used to be and just how big they are now.
Actually a few are close to the end of the trick-or-treating days…
Makes me sad. Glad I have the pictures![]()
This year we had…
A monkey…granted we nicknamed him “the spatula monkey” before the night was over.

He decided he just couldn’t “be the monkey” without mommies spatula…
Apparantly monkeys LOVE spatulas

We had Vampires…

an 80′s girl….

a creeper…

or two…

a Princess…cause it wouldn’t be Halloween for me without a princess!

the Mad Hatter…

Oh and several others that didn’t make it down to the field…Beckey and T.J were this years gracious hosts…
They made sure we even had our very own Jim Cantore!
If you live anywhere on the coast…you know Jim.

We made our way down to the field…

This years theme seemed to be “photo-bombing”…forget the bunny ears of years past…

Just like the real Jim Cantore…the vampires and creepers are photo-bombing during a report…as always.
It is a hard job as John Chase discovered.

Poor creepers…

Jordon wasn’t sneaky enough…totally busted.

I just hate it when my vampire teeth fall out…

You gotta have your teeth to kiss your mama!

At this point I know you are thinking “I bet Lucas ditched the spatula by now!”
Nope…still the spatula monkey.

a boy and his spatula….we no longer buy fancy toys around here.

“Look bro! Spatula’s are awesome!!”

Well I could go on and on and on with any of the 200 images I took tonight.
Since switching over to the Nikon D800 I have to get used to not over shooting because every image is AMAZING.
A whole other post.
BUT…the one thing I love most about the new camera?
That I can finally hand “the fancy camera” over to anyone and say “Please take our picture!”
And poof…I am in a nice picture! I do exist!![]()
Although I am a bit disappointed that George missed his chance to photo-bomb us…I am sure he is heart broken about that..lol!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween! Now I have to figure out how to stay away from the candy!
