Today we just kept coming across our little garden friends…
I love this time of year!

This fella showed up in the parsley bed…he is my friend because he eats bug.
Such a good toad!
Isn’t he handsome?!

He has gorgous eyes! Thanks to the macro on my camera I finally got to have a peek at a toads eyeball up close…I am a geek.

He jumped on Lucas and he didn’t even notice…

I ended up trying to help Haley learn the fine art of “catching a toad” the right way (you know…where they don’t pee on ya) but he got away from her and we laughed for a good while watching her attempt to get him…he now lives under the deck (smart fella!)

While I was mowing the side yard tonight I looked over and realized that one of my butterfly bushes was loaded with big old bumble bees…that all seemed to be asleep! I was like “Do bumble bees sleep?!”

Apparently they do or at least they rest…it was just before the sunset.
They were so pretty!

As I was walking the mower around back I looked at another butterfly bush and found this gal hanging out…

Granted I did wonder if she had ate her mate….ewewwwwwww

If the praying mantis is there in the morning I am going to put her in with the red leaf mustard in the garden that is being attacked by buggies…I bet she might eat them for me!![]()

Hope - OMG. I am terrified of frogs and toads. The pic of the toad on Lucas will give me nightmares for weeks!! : )September 1, 2012 – 10:06 pm
Tisha - Hope you just made me laugh loudly!!
I spent half my childhood catching toads….they are fun…just have to make sure they don’t pee on ya (just wanted to make you go “EEEECKKKK!!!!”;-) By the way did you see the Heritage Harvest Festival info I posted on FB? I was going to send it your way! I am spending the day up there taking classes on Saturday. Would love to have ya join us! http://heritageharvestfestival.com/September 2, 2012 – 8:42 pm
