11 months….. {Baby Lucas

Anyone have a clue where the time has gone?
Was it not just last year at this time that I was soooooooo over being pregnant?
Did it not seem like it would never end?  He had his own plans…nothing much has changed there.

Today he and I had a big shopping trip and he looked so big in that cart.
It was just that moment where you look at your baby and go “Where is my baby going?”…
Gone is his black hair…in place of it he now has a blondish/reddish mix going on.
He is in need of another hair cut…
I figure I will be calling Robin up soon and seeing if she is game to try and get those bangs under control….he is all business in the front and borderline mullet in the back.  He is starting to get little curls all along the back.  So strange how his hair keeps changing on us every few months.
Keeping us wondering what he is going to look like in another 12 months?

He has gone from hating shoes just  a short few weeks ago to crying when one falls off.
He now will go and pick them up and try to put them on all by himself…..getting frustrated if he can’t get them on.
Oh and a friend asked how I “got him to like them”?
Well I forced him to wear them around the house and just basically get used to having them on a little each day.
He also outgrew that first pair in like 2 weeks…grrr…
I highly recommend Stride Rite shoes for those first few pairs!  They are awesome!

The cat…oh how he LOVES the cat.
She is actually very good with him.  Every morning they have a petting fest.  He practices being “nice to the cat”.
He can now say:
Cat, Dog, Yeah, Mama, Dada, nahnah (which can mean mama or no…depends on the day), and ball.
Granted he isn’t easily understandable but “his people” understand him;-)

He is doing a little better at night…down to just waking up once and starting to wake up around 7:30ish…
Walking?  He is my first child to crawl for 6 MONTHS!!!  He simply loves being held.  He is a cuddle bug.
We have 5 people in this house that he cuddles with non-stop.
From arms to arms…person to person..his feet simply do not hit the ground that often.
He can stand on his own but he normally will just lift those little arms up to “his person” of the moment and whine to be picked up.
I can’t believe we are getting ready to plan his first birthday party.
Granted our babies first birthdays are just nothing but a big old get together with friends and a celebration of their first year.
I still have yet to even figure out what day we are having it..
Such a slacker!:-)
