Favorite time of the year.
Now I remember why I only gained 10lbs with Lucas last Summer…besides the never ending contractions.
Because all I eat this time of year….day in and day out…are fresh from the garden veggies and herbs.
I have two gardens this year as I explained in another post.
One is the kitchen garden just outside my kitchen door.
Small and more of a square foot garden setup.
I have really been giving it a break this Summer. After three years in the same spot it is in need of a break.
I am planning on planting red clover as a cover crop this Fall and just letting it sit for a few seasons and tilling a new plot for the Fall garden here.
But it still is giving us “volunteer” plants and we just let them grow as they want.
By the way…Lemon cucumbers by the way are fantastic in cucumber salad!
I have been letting things go to seed and collecting the seeds.
Right now the lettuce, cilantro and dill are close…
but the really good stuff is going on over at the real garden…
The big Kahuna.
The garden that I wish I had outside of my kitchen so I could fiddle with it everyday and watch the sun set on it every night.
(please forgive the iphone photos…I always forget to take my camera over there)
Loving the beans….
and all the cucumbers…
Lots of herbs….lots and lots and lots
and squash and zucchini coming out of our ears…
The tomatoes should start coming in next week….
Then the real fun begins!
