How about a week recap?

Well it has been a crazy week over here!  Who knew that sharing pictures of my scandalously un-Pinteresting life would bring out such passion in folks?!
I knew when I wrote that post that there would be a combo of reactions.
I definitely knew it may ruffle at least a few feathers of those who it hit home with.
In all honestly that post was seriously NOT about anybody in particular so I didn’t really know who would hate it and who would love it.
It was about ME being fed up with everyone comparing themselves to others.

I have managed to even get the old “de-friend” drama boot for writing it (geeze talk about making something all about “me me me”…lol)
Yes, that did surprise me because I really didn’t write it to annoy anyone.
The post has had far the opposite reaction from my real friends and readers that understood where I was coming from though.
Folks who know me well enough to know I don’t put something like that post out there unless I KNOW it is going to help at least one person.
Really?  Do you think I woke up and was like “I can’t wait to show my dirty dishes!”.
My friends also know that that post was NOT meant to hurt anyone’s feelings.
In reality though any “de-friending” will probably be more about not wanting to be associated with me for fear it would tarnish the possibilities of future “rockstar” status (insert eye roll right here please;-))
Guilt by association…total possibility.

BUT it could have been the dead plant or the dishes in the sink…also totally good reasons for de-friending!
Good thing I own some big girl undies and I am good at not caring if someone likes me or  not.  I learned years ago that spending your whole life worrying about who likes you and who doesn’t is a total waste of a good lifetime.
I shall forgive, forget, call the end of that chapter, move on and continue to wish them well in life.
I do love the fact that I can literally forgive these things and let them go.
There was a time in my life years ago where I couldn’t…but it has probably been the most valuable skill I have ever learned.
I highly recommend it:-)
Especially if you are a girl…cause girl world is hard ya know!
These chic’s can be brutal!

Shall we move on?  Sounds like a plan to me!
Back to my normal, mommy blogging life:-)

My stepsis and niece came down last weekend…
We ended up down in Kill Devil Hills NC of course…the location my family has been advised to toss my ashes one day when I pass away.

I figure they can come and visit me somewhere full of family sunset memories and sand…lots and lots of sand.

There is just something about  this place…every year…
Every vacation…
At least one night will be spent with the family up on this big sand mountain called Jockeys Ridge.
I am positive that it has the prettiest sunsets on the East Coast.
Letting the warm sunset shine and the kids run wild….
Really wild…
Is a family pastime.

Did I mention the sand?

Lucas got a free ride up the mountain…wish someone would carry me up!

The trick is always to keep Lucas from eating the sand as long as we can…

My keys are in ruins..

But he lasted for an hour before he got into the sand…it was a miracle.

It involved lots of clowns helping entertain him…Adam thought he needed to run in circles like the big kids.
So he helped him out with that…

and they both thought it was fantastic!

Ry was pretty taken with the fun mountain of sand and hanging with her cousins…

The hair…I am going to steal her hair.  I have always loved photographing this child…
Such a gorgeous kiddo!  Might I add she always makes me work for it!

I love the two front teeth missing age!

She did however stop long enough to give her mama some love…

But alas…our hour of “not eating the sand” was up and Lucas discovered it…
But we found that if we could get him to keep the paci in then he didn’t eat the sand…

and then he really got into it…

but he dropped the paci…and it was all downhill

It was officially time to go down the hill…

How about a gallery with some more snapshot from the whole trip?

One last thing…
Where the heck did this blonde baby come from?!  He looks exactly like baby Adam but with blond hair:-)

Have a very happy Friday!
And because it is one of my favorite “quotes to live by”….

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
